I have a 2 year-old daughter, and of course she wants to use my laptop all the time :>
So I was investigating how to build her a "disposable" laptop-like thingy...
And there are some ideas "out there" that I can borrow :D
For example:
- a paper laptop - could be nice for a car trip ;)
- a video with inspiration for a paper laptop
()
- a general site about origami
Finally: here there is a cheap toy, a plastic alternative for a laptop, but it could be nice to have it made in paper, so kids could change the look of the screen or perhaps interact in some ways with it...
Maybe a pop-up cardboard laptop could be the solution to add interactivity.
Something similar to these nice popup lamps (here):
And about functionalities: I've taken a look around for toy laptops, but they are all so very LAME!!
And this is different (more for the parents :D ) but on the same line: an origami that looks like a PC.
And even more for grown-up: this tutorial shows how to build electronic circuits using paper! (read it here)
