"B-spline curves are typically specified in terms of a set of control points, a knot vector, and a degree. Knot
information can also be imposed on a B-spline curve using knot intervals, introduced as a way to assign
knot information to subdivision surfaces"
and
"For periodic B-splines, things are even simpler, since we don’t need to deal with end conditions."

They write "simpler"... let's see! :D
