Take a picture (or a movie), and suppose you want to digitalize it.
There has to be a resolution at which you will not lose any detail; at that resolution we could consider the digital to be equivalent to the original analog media.
So the question is: are we there yet?
Is digital photography at the same resolution level of analogue photography?
Is HDTV the same resolution of, say, films used in movie theaters?
