''90% of visitors to Europe's 'video game addiction clinic' are not, in fact, addicted. The problem is a social one rather than a psychological issue.'' [source]
Why these days every non-orthodox behavior tends to be regarded as a disease or an addiction?
Could it be that in this way the freedom of acting "different" is automatically denied, in a socially acceptable way?
If I'm sick, I cannot really decide to continue in whatever I'm doing, I must stop and be cured... In fact this is the way gays were considered around WWII (for example take the case of Turing); and there are ads where hyper-active kids are considered sick, and by giving them some wonder pills they can be restored to their healthy, quiet state... come on!
