Biofuels are less cool than previously thought..

Read here.

"
Biofuels made from food crops such as corn, sugar, soybeans and oil palm burn cleaner than fossil fuels, but experts say high demand is sending ripples through the world economy, and could be doing the environment more harm than good.
"

As M. Cricton says in State of fear, every technology has good and bad sides...
So the best way to proceed about fuels, is probably to consider solutions that rely on infrastructures. Like they say in this article in Danish, in Denmark some of the electricity providers are thinking of setting up a fine-meshed network of el-filling stations, to practically extend the usability of el-cars in the country, and encourage citizen to buy and use some more.
The article also reports that Renault-Nissan is going in production in 2011 with a new kind of electric car that should be competitive with a 1.6 cm3 petrol car.
The range of such cars should be 160 km, so if refilling the battery takes 10 minutes and is (as they say) as cheap as petrol or even cheaper, and can be done in any regular gas-stations, then I could be one of the consumers interested in buying an el-car! :D
